"Smoky Mountain Autumn" is a commissioned painting of a family farm hidden deeply up a rutted dirt road in the Appalacian mountains of Tennessee.
It was rendered using Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Orange, Indian Yellow, Bright Red and Cadmium Red Light.
The misty open area in the background is a mixture of Floral Pink with a touch of Pthalo Blue and Liquid White.
If you look closely you will see a gas can and an old Ford tractor peeking out of the barn door. The old Chevy truck was painted using Sap Green and White with a touch of Burnt Sienna.
It took a while to add all those loose leaves on the roadway and truck but I think it was worth it.
This was a challenging painting for me. But I have been trying to push my abilities more lately.
